Keeping Water & Wastewater Accounts Current

Effective May 1, 2021, Governor Polis lifted the prohibition on water utilities, like the Roxborough Water & Sanitation District, for assessing late fees and shutting off service for past due accounts. The District recognizes that the last year has been difficult for a lot of people, and it is not the District’s intent to add to those difficulties. Yet, the District incurs all the costs associated with providing clean, safe drinking water and efficient wastewater services to the community and being a not-for-profit entity, does not have the financial capability to continue to carry past due accounts. As of May 1, there were 153 accounts 60 or more days past due with a total balance owing of nearly $100,000. If you have a past due balance on your water and sewer bill, it is imperative you call the District’s billing office at 303-381-4960 and set up a payment plan to get your account current and avoid any interruption in service. Beginning with the May billing, the District will begin assessing late fees and posting homes for shut off. Past due accounts will also be monitored closely for excessive use once the summer irrigation season starts.
